The College Clinic

The College Clinic serves as a health care provider to members of the College Community. This department is directly under the office of the Provost via the Registrar. The Head of the clinic has other supporting medical and non-medical staff. The Clinic has a medical doctor, nurses and / or midwives. The College Clinic is headed by A Director:

  1. The College Clinic provides services such as modified curative and preventive medical services to the College Community (Students, staff and their dependents).
  2. The College Clinic therefore operates for 24 hours every day.
  3. Experienced Doctors and Nurses are always on ground for routine consultations during working hours and also for any emergencies at any time.
  4. All categories of patients (males and females) are attended to at the College clinic.
  5. There are two wards in the clinic: a female ward with eight (8) beds and a male ward with seven (7) beds were critical cases are admitted for detail observation.
  6. Cases that cannot be managed with the available resources at the College clinic are referred to the Minna General Hospital for further management through the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
  7. The College Clinic have two (2) functional ambulances used to convey critical ill students to the General Hospital for referral.
  8. The Clinic has a casualty theatre for minor operations.
  9. It also housed a laboratory equipped to investigate; chemistry, haematological, bacteriological and parasitological cases.

To enhance and provide adequate health care services, the students are presently enrolled with the National Health Insurance Scheme.

STUDENTS’ REGISTRATION WITH THE CLINIC

Each student must register with the College Clinic before he or she is entitled to medical attention at the Clinic. Each student should present his/her identity card to the record officer on his/her first visit to the Clinic for identification as one of the bonafide students of the College. The College Clinic is situated beside the New Girls’ Hostel. Health facilities are fully operational in the Clinic, which offers a wide range of services to all staff and students such as outpatient care, prescription of drugs, antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, minor surgeries, diagnostic tests, health education and counselling. The staff of the Clinic also attend to emergency cases.  Drugs are available for the College community at no cost.
